Take note of TRIO meeting location change.
At the November special TRIO meeting, those attending voted to change our meeting location to one that would be more
accessible to a greater number of transplant patients.  The decision was made to meet either at or near Mayo Clinic, and
the final choice was at the Gabriel House of Care.  Our meeting day and time remains unchanged - 7:00pm on the 3rd
Thursday of the month.  We will meet in the conference room on the ground floor of the building.
TRIO NEFL in need of new board members.
TRIO meetings are open to anyone interested in attending.  Our meetings are held in the conference room at the Gabriel
House of Care on the campus at Mayo Clinic.  The address is 4599 Worrall Way.  We meet the 3rd Thursday of each month.
Maps and directions are available here.
If you're looking to get more involved in the transplant community and helping your fellow transplant recipients, we need
your help.  Most of TRIO NEFL's current board members have been active on the board for many years, and are ready for a
break.  No prior board experience is required, just a desire to help our chapter grow and remain an integral part of our
members' lives.  Board members have the opportunity to plan meetings and social events, as well as special events like
donor awareness activities, our annual Christmas party and Christmas dinner for transplant patients and their families.

Current board positions available include President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Director, and Board
Member at Large.

To learn about the duties and responsibilities of each position, please contact J.T. Rhodes at 904-388-8868 or
jtrhodescpa@msn.com.
Speaker videos available on our website.
We now have three speaker videos available for you to watch here on
our website.  Grace Chen, right, Founder and CEO of Med Tourist Center,
spoke to TRIO members on the topic of transplant tourism.  If you
missed the meeting or would like to see the presentation again, you
may watch it by clicking on the Speaker Videos tab on the left.  Also
available on our site are presentations by Kathy Somers, donor mom,
and Jim Rivard, who received her son's heart.  They spoke at our June
2010 meeting.  Our most recent video offers Drew Silverman, Pharm. D.,
giving his presentation on Sex, Drugs, and Transplantation.  This is a
great video for anyone concerned about sexual dysfunction following
transplant.
We start the new year off with a topic close to all our hearts...and livers, and kidneys, and....well, you get the idea.  We
welcome a representative from the Mayo transplant team to dicuss their program.

2012 Transplant Games of America - July 28-31, 2012
Where the U.S. Transplant Games left off, the Transplant Games of America picks up.....

For 20 years, the U.S. Transplant Games hosted transplant recipients, living donors, donor family members and friends from
around the country in an array of special events designed to educate the general public about the success of organ
donation.  Transplant athletes participated in a wide variety of sporting events, highlighting their new-found good health
following a life-saving transplant.  Now the Transplant Games of America begins a new era in the promotion of organ
donation and life after transplant.

The TGA will take place in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Grand Valley State University.  State and regional teams are being
formed, so check the
TGA website for more information on who to contact to register.  All transplant recipients are eligible
to compete in the athletic competitions provided they are a minimum 6 months post-transplant and have been verified in
good health by their physician.  See the
TGA website for full details.
